Andrew R Green, BSc (Hons) FRAS. 

Andy, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society has been actively involved in astronomy and space for over 48 years becoming interested in astronomy & space aged 7. A love of Apollo since childhood, he was born on 7th March 1969 – The very day Apollo 9 tested the Command and lunar Modules for the very first time. He has met all the crew.

As a freelance space journalist/photographer he has had articles published in the respected “Spaceflight Magazine” of the British Interplanetary Society and many UK news outlets and “Quest” Magazine in the USA as well as being a staff writer for “Rocket STEM” in the USA. He recently contributed to the “Space Flight section” of the JROTC training manual for the US Navy. 

Other credits include lecturing for Cunard Line since 2007 as part of their “Cunard Insights” programme and he has lectured on liners, QE2, Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth, and Queen Victoria. 

Andy has also given lectures at the London Science Museum London and at the Royal Geographical Society London. 

Having had the opportunity to visit many Space Centres and reporting from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for 2 Space Shuttle missions, STS-125 (For Spaceflight Magazine the final mission to Hubble) and the last ever Space Shuttle mission STS-135 (For the BBC), he also attended a military satellite launch at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. 

Andy has met over 80 current and former astronauts and cosmonauts gaining a unique insight into their missions and lives, including 8 of the 12 of the men who have walked on the moon including the late Neil Armstrong. One Apollo Moon walking astronaut, Charlie Duke of Apollo 16 is a close friend.
